I recently worked with a local salon to create a course to help onboard new receptionists learn all of the typical duties that someone in the role would need to know and apply throughout their shifts. Please note: Express permission was granted to use this sample as a portfolio piece. The name of the salon has been changed in the course.

After completing a needs analysis, I developed four courses that were closely aligned with the company's handbook and best practices. New receptionists would work through each module, complete the assessment, and move into the hands-on portion of job training.

While managing the end-to-end development and implementation of the project, I worked closely with various leveled subject matter experts to align content with best practices. I included many Rise components including tabs, flip cards, scenarios, video, and assessments to enhance the learner's experience while incorporating adult learning theories.

Throughout the project, I worked closely with the client to ensure that the course was meeting their training needs and edited modules based on feedback. The client expressed that the new format would lead to better employee engagement compared to previous training methods and receptionists would be more prepared to enter the floor than they had been in the past.
